Exodus 25:32 & 33 – “…and six branches shall come out of the sides of it: three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side: three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch, and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch.”

When in bloom, the almond tree is a spectacular sight. It was the almond branch of Aaron that flowered and fruited overnight in the Tabernacle (Numbers 17: 1-8); and it was the almond tree that inspired the shape of the great lamp stand of the Tabernacle and the subsequent Temples.
