"'Season of the Eagle' developed out of the many summer backpacking trips I've taken. In the mountains, there are crevices and deeply shaded places where the snow melts very slowly. Watching these changes over time, I got the first spark of an idea for this work. There is nothing more beautiful than a mountain landscape. As the summer sun melts off the winter snow, rock cliffs and talus slides begin to appear. As the summer progresses, the snow pack continues to recede until only the deep drifts and rocky recesses remain." - Bev Doolittle
