Mark Farand is Calgary-born Canadian artist famous for transforming scenes of everyday urban and rural life into surrealistic worlds of imagination.

Depicted is a typical small-town Value Drug Mart. Inscribed on many of the bricks in the buildings facade are the names of all the Alberta towns that Value Drug Mart calls home. As is usual for this artist, there are also a number of cobwebs cleverly spun into the painting.
