The CDIS is a pressure regulated pump. This unit must be combined with a disposable set of tubing, which includes the pump chamber. When combined with the disposable, this unit pumps fluids at a regulated rate such that a constant set pressure is maintained by the flow, this is achieved in a closed, negative feedback loop. A dial on the front of the device allows for adjustment of the set pressure. The front of the device contains a pumping mechanism, where the part of the disposable pump chamber is placed, on the side is a port for monitoring pressure. Current pressure is displayed on a 3 digit digital readout on the front, in units of mmHg. The disposable provides all necessary connections.
Designed for use in hysteroscopy, this system provides sufficient fluid flow to distend the uterus, while pressure regulation keeps distention at a constant level, and prevents damage from too rapid of a fluid flow.
